Tennessee rock band Kings Of Leon sold out the 30th anniversary Slane Castle gig today.
The 80,000 tickets for the Boyne Valley concert were snapped up within 40 minutes of going on sale.
Organisers are expected to make significant changes to the concert venue after complaints following the 2008 gig headlined by Oasis.
Disgruntled fans were unhappy with long bus delays, queues to get into the venue and at beer stalls and alleged overcrowding.
Among the changes for next year will be new bus turnaround facilities, a widened entrance for fans from Dublin, a new emergency exit, larger bar facilities and a wider perimeter.
Kings Of Leon will headline Slane on May 28th next year, marking 30 years of concerts at the Co Meath venue. The first gig was headlined by Thin Lizzy with support from U2.
The band announced a gig at the O2 in Dublin today for December 11th. Tickets go on sale next Tuesday.
