U2 Tour Set To Explode (Nui Te Koha video)

With only one more sleep to go before U2 kick-off their Aussie tour, Triple M's music reporter Nui Te Koha flew back from the band's NZ show on the weekend to tell us what we have in store.

"The setlist is incredible," he told Triple M's Hot Breakfast. "The first half of the set has big tunes like "Beautiful Day", "Vertigo" and "Elevation", while the second half of the set has really big tunes like "With Or Without You", "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "One".
"It's a really well-paced show. [They play] all the hits, everything that you'd expect, and under that giant claw that we've been hearing so much about."
U2 flew into Sydney last Saturday on their private jet and Bono wasted no time in pushing his various causes, even catching up with former PM Kevin Rudd to talk about aid and poverty.
However, the U2360 show comes with none of the 'doom & gloom' politics of past tours. Gone are the stunts of Bono holding the mobile phone up with numbers to phone in.
But the band's bassist Adam Clayton told Nui the band were still passionate about politics because it's in their blood.
"We're not politicians. That's not our job. But we are in a situation, and Bono is in a situation, where because of the support that the band has he can say 'well, as a culture, as a society, are we doing the right thing?'.
"We came from an environment where we didn't trust politicians and that hasn't really changed."
U2 will be basing themselves in Sydney, commuting to their gigs via their private jet. Their Australian tour officially kicks off tomorrow night at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
