Dylan, U2, Springsteen biggest sellers on Black Friday

It seems indie record stores in North America could use a few more Black Fridays, as stats have come in showing dramatic sales increases.
According to Hyperbot, most independent music retailers saw sales increases of 10% to 50% on Friday and 15% to 20% for the weekend. Some artists and bands who made it onto the top sellers list included U2, Metallica, Gaslight Anthem, Iron and Wine, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Grinderman, Drive by Truckers, Black Crowes, and Jimi Hendrix.
“Most did well, with many reporting lines of people waiting to get in,” said Michael Bunnell, Director of Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS). “All of this is very positive and a testament to Indie stores doing what they do best – serving real music fans with great products.”
Jeffery Moss from Streetlight Records, an indie chain, said the various exclusives offered on Black Friday helped attract customers to independent stores as opposed to bigger stores like Target and Wal-Mart.
