After a series of accidents and injuries on the set of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, U2’s Bono and The Edge will be attending all of the remaining preview performances the Broadway musical. The duo, who wrote all of the music for the production, will join director Julie Taymor in fine-tuning the show for its new official opening on February 7.
There are some rumors going around that the two will be focused on reworking some of the show’s songs, and collaborating with Taymor on streamlining its second act.
This will be the songwriters’ first time witnessing the full production, as they have been tied up in touring with U2 and other commitments since previews for the show began in November. This may have been for the best, as it means they were spared the various mishaps that have plagued the superhero musical. Hopefully they will emerge from these shows unscathed.
