U2 come to the aid of new musical talent

CLARE musicians are hoping to benefit from a new multi-million euro music education scheme co-funded by rock giants U2.
A consultation meeting in relation to Music Networks Music Education Partnership Scheme is being organised by Clare Arts Office on Thursday, October 21, at 6pm in the Red Room, Glór, Ennis.
The aim of the meeting is to enable those interested in applying for funding under this scheme to network with potential partners.
The meeting will be introduced by Katie Verling, Director, Glór Irish Music Centre, and will be addressed by Professor Michéal O’Suilleabháin, representing Maoin Cheoil an Chláir.
The funds will allow a national system of music education to be rolled out between 2010 and 2015.
