WINNIPEG, Canada - A beautiful day is coming up for local U2 fans

Irish rock group U2 will bring their 360° Tour to Canad Inns Stadium on May 29, 2011, Live Nation Canada announced today. Tickets for the concert go on sale Monday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. for $30, $55, $95 and $250 at Ticketmaster. Adult contemporary group the Fray will open.
U2 last played the city in 1997 as part of its PopMart tour. Winnipeg wasn’t initially included when the 360° Tour was announced last year, but the 2010 North American leg was postponed after frontman Bono suffered a back injury and underwent surgery in May.
The tour, in support of the group’s 2009 album No Line on the Horizon, is named after the giant four-legged, 164 foot-tall stage structure known as "The Claw," which has set the world record for the largest concert stage of all time.
The stage will be constructed in the centre of the football field with fans surrounding it on all sides. Field level tickets will be general admission with reserved seating in the stands.
